Our story

Pilon Fleur began with a simple but meaningful mission: to create floral designs that are deeply personal, culturally rich, and unapologetically whimsical.

It all started when my husband went on a quest to find a Black-owned floral shop in the Boston area that could create a bespoke bouquet to celebrate our anniversary. He was searching for something specific; something bold, stunning, and full of personality. But after calling around and coming up short, he ultimately had to order from a generic florist with none of the magic he’d hoped for.

When he shared his experience with me, it lit a spark. I couldn't stop thinking about the gap he had encountered. How hard it was to find a floral studio that reflected our culture, creativity, and elevated aesthetic. That conversation planted a seed. I started buying flowers on my own, playing with colors, textures, and shapes, crafting arrangements for friends, family, and neighbors. What began as a hobby quickly blossomed into a passion and then a purpose.

The name Pilon Fleur is rooted in my Haitian heritage. Growing up in a West Indian household, one of my daily tasks was helping my mother prepare epis, our traditional seasoning blend, using a pilon, the Haitian mortar and pestle. One day, inspired by that memory, I designed an arrangement in a pilon. It was beautiful, symbolic, and full of meaning. That’s when everything clicked.

Pilon Fleur is more than a flower shop, it’s a love story, a cultural tribute, and a creative expression of beauty in all its forms. Each arrangement tells a story, celebrates heritage, and brings a little magic into the everyday.
